Parental consent notice
Version 2026-10-16 ยท Effective 16 October 2026. This is the exact notice you agree to when you create a child profile.
Who may consent
Only a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over, signed in to their own Mathidia Junior account, may create a child profile. By creating one you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you authorise the processing described below.
What you consent to
For the child profile you create, you consent to us collecting and using:
- the nickname, picture avatar and date of birth you choose โ used only to pick age-appropriate questions;
- the child's answers, scores, mastery, stars, badges, streaks and time spent โ used to teach, adapt difficulty and build your parent reports;
- a scrambled (hashed) form of the 4-digit code you set, and records of the devices you approve.
This is the only processing of your child's data that takes place. There is no advertising, no analytics, no marketing to children, no AI training and no sale or sharing of your child's data.
How consent is recorded
Each consent, withdrawal and re-consent is stored as a new, dated record showing the version of this notice you saw (2026-10-16), the method (signed-in parent dashboard), the purpose and the legal rule that applies in your country. You can see this history in your parent zone.
United States (COPPA)
If you live in the United States and use the Free Trial, we email you a consent link first and then a confirmation ("email plus") before a child profile can be added. On a paid plan, the card payment through Stripe forms part of verifying that a parent is consenting. Because we never disclose children's data to third parties, these methods are permitted under COPPA.
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent for any child at any time in your parent zone. Withdrawal takes effect immediately: the child's sign-in stops and no further learning data is collected. Their existing records stay untouched until you delete them or consent again. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.
